Then, “We Belong” by Pat Benatar started playing on my iPod, and when it hit the chorus, I had a “Talladega Nights” moment and…

Total time: 37 minutes (I jogged further into the course than I would normally because there’s construction on my street and I wanted to make sure I got my jogging in without doing it on an obstacle course)
Total mileage: 1.93 miles
Very humid today, so there was no way in hell I was doing 10 minutes of jogging. I did that because it was cool, dry and I felt good the other day, but I don’t need to push myself like that so far ahead of my current schedule. Just the same, I ended up running about an extra minute and a half today, and walking an extra 4 minutes, so I’ve definitely extended my endurance some. If this keeps up, I should be able to move up to the next workout level next week, finally. It’s August and I’m almost where I should’ve been at the beginning of May, but at least I’m there. I’m not down on myself here, and I feel pretty good about what I can do now, actually. Life gets in the way of things here and there, and I know I’m doing my best, and that’s what’s important.
