Here’s the trailer for ZO2’s TV show:

As someone who’s actually performed with the Z brothers way back when (for one glorious song, “Down” by the Stone Temple Pilots; the Zs filled in for the regular band that week), I gotta say that this cracks my shit up. Good luck, guys!

Free Slurpee Day

Posted in Upcoming Events. on July 11th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

It starts at 7 AM local time TODAY, people. That’s in 6 hours and 24 minutes over here on the East Coast of the States. If there are 7-11s near you in foreign lands, then Free Slurpee Day may have already started for you.

You know what to do.

I’m a little overdue on this, but…

Last week, I saw an absolutely tremendous singer named Nicole Atkins play a solo acoustic show near me (she’s a local). Amazing voice on this one, just HUGE. I think I’m a little late to the party where she’s concerned, but in case I’m not, I’m recommending her to y’all. She’s just starting her tour (she played NJ again last night, and she leaves from here), and I think quite a few of you would enjoy her. I know some of my readers are in Boston, and she’ll be at T.T. The Bear’s in Cambridge tonight. She’ll also be in Toronto at Lee’s Palace on Sunday, and I know that about half my readership is in the Greater Toronto Area. I really recommend catching her, before it gets very, very expensive to do so. The rest of her tour dates are on her MySpace, but I figured I’d at least single out those two to start.

Tonight:

It’s at Asbury Lanes, opening band (Sound of Urchin) starts at 8, and if there are still tickets left, they’re under 20 bucks.

Gibby Haynes backed up by a bunch of kids, doing Buttholes songs. Yep, this should be worth scraping together the change I had to scrape together to get there.

And, in more music news: New Saul Williams, out November 1st, to follow “In Rainbows” business model!

Posted in Upcoming Events. on October 25th, 2007 by Scott Crawford

That friggin’ Reznor dude I used to do publicity for has announced today that the next album by the excellent Saul Williams (which Trent produced) will be released via a “pay what you like” business model, ala Radiohead’s “In Rainbows”. The album’s coming out on November 1st, and will hopefully be as awesome as Saul’s last record. Go check it out, and either do a pre-order to grab the stuff for free (at 192 bitrate, better than Radiohead!), or, if you like, hook Mr. Williams up with $5 and get higher bitrate MP3s and FLAC files, for you FLAC nerds going through Oink withdrawal.

The 2007 Heck Street Fair, Tomorrow, Saturday August 18th! Noon-8 PM Second Life (Pacific) Time, 3-11 PM Eastern Time

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Second Life., Upcoming Events., antimatteruniverse. on August 18th, 2007 by Scott Crawford

The 2007 Heck Street Fair is Saturday, August 18th! Our inaugural outdoor event will be 8 full hours of the weirdness that is Heck, neatly packaged into four mini-events showcasing our most popular activities.

Part I of our programming day is called “Skate…Or…Dive!” and it features the sporting side of Heck. We recently had a popular event called “LIVE NUDE ROLLER DISCO!” at Heck (which will be a regular event here for now on), and because it was so much fun, we’re encouraging everyone to put their skates back on (or get a pair of Skoopfs from us!) and go nuts on our property. Do tricks, dance, explore the Heck compound, take your clothes off and skate nude, you name it! This part is purely an exhibition, but it’ll be fun!

We’ll also be having a skydiving contest, using Terra Aeronautics products (Pro Chutes are *required* to enter; get yours at Abbotts Aerodrome or check with us closer to the event). This contest will have a L$500 prize.

It’s all happening from Noon-2 PM SLT, and it’s just the start!

Part 2 of our event, “ZOMG SHOPPING” is devoted to all the wonderful vendors we have in the Heck Mall, including Absentia, Feelgood and Sunshine Kind, The Gamer Grid, Happycat Industries, Sin, Unexpected Error, Fugly Jewels and @Dusk, who generously bought naming rights to this event for their other store. ;)

Throughout the day, Heck vendors will be making appearances at their stores (times TBA; check with your favorite vendor or us for up-to-the-minute info), but this is an opportunity to devote quality time to checking out their wares without having the sky divers, video games or naked people distract you too much! Worry not though, adventure lovers! There will still be dancing throughout this event with Heck’s resident DJ, Lexa Pro and The Ladies Of Heck!

Part III of our event, the Arcade Olympics, tests your skill at 5 of Seven Shikami’s popular OpenArcade games! The person with the best combined high score ranking on Freestylers: Groove, Fist Of Discomfort, Phrase Invaders, Zombie Meltdown and Whack-A-Mole will walk away with L$1000! You will be awarded 5 points for each first place finish, 4 for each second and so forth down to 1 point for fifth. Ties will result in a sudden death showdown! All participants must play all 5 games to be eligible (and you’ve only got 2 hours to get ranked, so play fast and don’t get too hung up on any one game), and the games are L$1 per play! While you play, Lexa Pro DJs and The Ladies Of Heck keep you company!

To finish off the event in style, Part IV, “The Nightcap” is your last chance to shake it for us, and have us shake it back at you! Lexa Pro, already doing a marathon for this unprecedented outdoor event at Heck, gives you his best 2 hours at the back end, and The Ladies Of Heck will be there, so show them what you’re made of while you watch the last sunset of the event and dance into the night! Anything goes at this one, kids!

If you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to in Second Life…

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Second Life., Upcoming Events., antimatteruniverse. on June 29th, 2007 by Scott Crawford

Go here. That should bring you up to date.

I’ll talk more about that…other…life when I’m damn good and ready. =)

I won’t be at the Loop Lounge Friday, but Nanuchka will be!

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Upcoming Events. on January 3rd, 2007 by Scott Crawford

Folks,

Due to unforeseen circumstances (a respiratory infection that I’m not having much fun with), I’m unable to play Friday night’s show at The Loop Lounge. However, this does not mean you should not go!

After all, Nanuchka are still playing, and they are quite fantastic. Not getting to see them again on Friday is perhaps what I’m most bummed about regarding this cancellation (much as I’d love to sing and dance for you all again), because they were really great at Club Midway last month. Great songs, and so much energy in their performance. Definitely on the list of must-see artists in the New York area right now, and I have a pretty strong gut feeling that people the world over are going to be hearing their name way more often in the very near future. Tall Days will also be appearing as well, but alas, I’ve been too busy to check ‘em out thus far. I’m sure they’re solid, too, but I can’t be like “Man, you *need* to see this band!” like I am with Nanuchka just yet.

Apologies to all who were looking forward to seeing me this week (and thanks to the Loop staff for being so patient with me), but again, seriously, like I said…Nanuchka! Great great great! Doors are still at 10, admission’s still probably $7, and it’s still 18+ to enter, 21+ to drink.

As for me, I’ll see you all as soon as I can, either in the real world where you’re familiar with seeing me perform, or in Second Life, where I will begin performing shows very soon. If you need more information on that, by all means, message me.

antimatteruniverse. recording artist Scott Crawford (alternate link if the MySpace streams aren’t working) will be performing live at New York’s Club Midway tomorrow night, Tuesday, December 19th at 9 PM. Headlining the night at 11 PM, as part of their December residency, will be Nanuchka. Matthew Landis opens the night at 8 PM, and Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys will be on between Scott and Nanuchka at 10 PM. Admission is $8.00, and the show is 21+.

Just over two hours until it all goes to hell…er…Heck.

Just a reminder that my Second Life nightclub, Heck, opens tonight, Friday, December 15th 2006 at 8 PM Eastern, 5 PM Second Life Time. I’m still scrambling around last minute, of course, but it’s lookin’ good so far. This SLurl will get you to Heck if you have SL installed, and if not, the coordinates are Tamarack 94, 78, 159 (look on the Map), or search for “Heck” (because Search in SL does work right now, anyway).

If you’re still not sure what the hell I’m talking about with this Second Life business or if you missed it, read this.

12/19 Scott Crawford Show, Second Life club Heck opening 12/15, Pretty In Velvet

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Second Life., Upcoming Events. on December 13th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

People of Cartoonland,

On this coming Tuesday, December 19th, I will be playing at Club Midway in New York City. Some of the old farts in the audience like me will remember it as Save The Robots, the place where all the ravers would spend their late-night/early morning K-hole time in the late 80’s and early 90’s, though it’s switched owners a few times since then, and it has recently been snazzied up and turned into Club Midway! I hear good things about the sound system, and because the neighborhood is so gentrified now, the corner crack dealer who used to work on 2nd and B and once even gave my friends a free glass dick with their order has been replaced by a shiny new Starbucks, so fear not, suburbanites! (OK, I lied about the Starbucks.)

Anyway, I will be playing with Nanuchka, who are awesome and have graciously invited us to be a part of their month-long Tuesday night residency at Midway. We will be going on at 9 PM, (with Nanuchka on at 11) the show is 21+, and admission is a very reasonable $8.00. Also appearing will be Matthew Landis at 8 PM, and Walter Sickert and the Army of Broken Toys at 10 PM. I haven’t checked either of those acts out yet, but I’m sure they’re just wonderful.

So, don’t make me beg. I hate begging. Come out and play on Tuesday, people! We haven’t played New York in a few months, and with me, you never know when I’m just going to stop playing shows and hide in my bedroom for a few years, so take your chances when you can get ‘em. If by some god-awful chance you haven’t actually heard my music yet, go here or here.

The show is just one of the things I have to tell you about today, though. I’ve asked before and gotten no response because you’re all a bunch of heathens. How many of you are using Second Life? If you’re not and you have a powerful enough computer to do so (hint: if your graphics card is anything other than an ATI or an Nvidia card, you don’t; sorry, not my rules…), you should really, REALLY be spending time with SL. Besides, I will be playing live shows in SL soon (more on that later, and yes, it can be done! My company, antimatteruniverse. will be opening Heck, an adult nightclub in Second Life, this Friday, 12/15, at 8 PM Eastern Time (or 5 PM Second Life Time, for those of you already operating on that clock). Heck has gotten great reviews from the people who have visited while I’ve been building it (and solid crowds, in a club that’s not even open…), so Friday’s opening should be insane. Come by, have sex on the ceiling, and do cocaine off of every flat surface in the place, just like we used to in the old days. “It’s all happening…” Heck can be found in Second Life at Tamarack 94, 78, 160 on the Map, or by searching for “Heck” in search, assuming it’s working. Or, assuming MySpace lets me use them and assuming you’ve got Second Life installed, use this SLurl to go straight to Heck.

And, finally today, I’d like to direct you to Pretty In Velvet. Pretty In Velvet is Kage Hopkins, known to some of you as my guitar player. While I’ve been dealing with all sorts of things in my life this year (pretty much everything but the completion of my album “Babykiller.”, which I assure you is still in very slow progress…), Kage has been writing and recording his own album. It is still a work in progress, but the basic tracks are written and we’re about to go into the mixing/overdub/putting a coat of gloss on it stage. So far, I hear shades of Human League, Fad Gadget and all sorts of other things dragged kicking and screaming into the 21st century. I’m liking what I’m hearing quite a bit, I’m pretty sure that quite a few of you will as well, and I’m very proud of Mr. Hopkins for the work he’s done so far on bringing Pretty In Velvet to life. You can check them out at the above web site (that’s prettyinvelvet.com) or on MySpace (and be sure to add Pretty In Velvet if you like what you hear, because there’s more on the way), though I point out that, because MySpace’s streaming server has been really cranky lately, the easiest way to listen to music (which is what you really want to do here) is to go to the web site.

Scott Crawford CBGB 313 Gallery NYC 9 PM Tonight!

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Upcoming Events. on September 17th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

I just woke up, after a rare, vaguely reasonable night’s sleep, and you know what? I’m pretty excited about this one. It’ll be me, Bad Camera, Glass Doll, The Rabies, and The Strange Walls. Charles from Dark Eden will be hosting, and my friend DJ Charlie the Slut will be spinning post-punk and deathrock while also spinning a yarn or two about wangs if you’re fortunate.

Doors are at 8-ish, i think (I’m expected there at 7:30, for whatever that’s worth), I’m on at 9, cover is a meager $6 (please follow typical club show rules and tell them you’re there to see Scott Crawford if, in fact, you are) and I believe this is a rare (for now; man, I’m tired of the 21+ thing…venues, take notice!) 16+ show!

Details here, for those who like this shit all in one place…

Also of note, for those of you who want to make a whole day of it, our friends in Modrocket are going to be playing a Death Disco all-ages matinee (Wow, 2 under-21 shows in a day? Rad!) at Cake Shop (which is about 5 blocks away from CB’s Gallery) along with The Bones Royal and Dirtblonde. BP Fallon and Mathilde Hildebrandt will be DJing, doors are at 3, and bands start at 4 (with Modrocket on at 5). Cover for that is $5, and like I said, it’s all-ages. I’ll be there too, to catch the bands and pre-game a little. Seeya there, and then later at CB’s Gallery for my show!

I am playing at the Loop Lounge in Passaic, NJ on Friday, September 8th, 2006.

“Playing?”, you say, as if you haven’t seen me hype my fucking music to death already.

Yes. I play music.

Come see me do it at The Loop Lounge in Passaic, NJ with my special guests Strange Things Done In The Midnight Sun (featuring erstwhile Cocksmith justj0hn), who will be having their debut performance. Doors are at 10, I’m on around 11, and Strange Things… will be on, appropriately at Midnight. Admission is $7.00, and the Loop Lounge is always 21+.

Scott Crawford/The Lost Patrol/Five Star Dive at The Loop Lounge Friday 5/12/06 (TONIGHT!)

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Upcoming Events. on May 12th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

I will be playing at The Loop Lounge in Passaic, NJ TONIGHT with The Lost Patrol and Five Star Dive. As the nice train wreck flyer says above, doors are at 10, admission is $7, and the show is 21+.

As those of you who’ve seen the last 5023980238902 of these announcements may know, I typically fill the paragraph after the specifics with some attempt to say something clever (How am I doing at that?), or otherwise, I try to say something about the show that’ll make it stand out in some odd way among the other 5023980238902 bulletins about shows that you see from the other people on your lists. I’m not going to do too much of that today, as you’ve heard plenty about this show already.

What I will say, before I let you all be until I take the stage tonight, is this: you’ve got 3 bands at the Loop tonight who are going to bust their respective asses to make this show totally fucking godhead for you all. I can’t really speak objectively about the quality of what I do, because, well, I’m the one doing it, but I can tell you that both The Lost Patrol and Five Star Dive are on this bill because I really, genuinely enjoy what they do, and I think you will as well. I’m going to have a great time tonight just watching them, but I also promise to save as much of that great time as possible for when I’m on the stage. It’s going to be a blast, folks, and I’d love to see you right there with us all. Right up front, close to the stage, all cozy and personal. This is going to be good.

Oh, and one more thing. Free hugs from me tonight for whoever wants ‘em.

RSVP for attendance as well as hugs here.
