Subservient Chicken

(No, I’m not linking to the stupid fucking site.)

If he wants to serve me, he can go around killing everyone who messages me saying “OMFG THIS IS THE BEST SITE EVAR!!!!!!!11111ONEONEONE”. I’m really sick of hearing about this cocksucker, so stop.

Now. Send me the URL of a site I’d actually care about (and if you penis enlargement spammers even think about hitting up the comments section of this one, I’ll get you, too…). You kids have at least some idea of my likes and dislikes. Generally, if it involves the written word, I’m cool with it. If it involves tons of pictures, flash, audio, or some sick fuck in a chicken suit begging for abuse from a bunch of morons on the web, I’m not.

Best wishes go out to Lance Storm, who’s hanging up his boots for at least a while to become a trainer for Ohio Valley Wrestling. If you stick with this “retirement” thing, Lance, know that it was a pleasure for me to watch you work. Good luck with the new gig, and here’s hopin’ you get to teach some of these kids how to work the right way. :D

Went to see Blue Scream at the Brighton Bar in beautiful Long Branch, NJ (OK, exaggerating a little there, but the Brighton’s a good little place). Been meaning to forever, as I haven’t seen them since they were called Stargazer back in the ’70s, with a few different members. Very solid show…they’re a good deal harder than they used to be, almost punkish in their sound nowadays, but it totally works. Tia can still absolutely wail on that microphone, Amber is easily one of the best bassists in the NYC metro area, and Tom’s one hell of a great lead guitarist. The new guys (sorry, know there’s been some personnel changes, we haven’t been introduced yet, and I wanna make sure I get your names right, heh…) fit right in there too, great stuff all around! Great to see them; really, it’s been too long. They’re playing Freddy’s Back Room in Brooklyn (BROOKLYN!!!!! Sorry. Z Brothers moment there.) on June 26th, and they’re definitely worth checking out.

Also caught Waterproof Blonde from Louisville, Kentucky, who apparently did ex-WWE wrestler Sean O’Haire’s theme music. I’m guessing that this won’t be the last the world hears from them by a long shot. Quality band, with sort of an Angelfish/Motels/Divinyls feel to them, very catchy, sleek pop/rock stuff. Singer Rachel Hagan is an absolute knockout, too, which of course helps. =) They’ve also got a few gigs coming up in the NYC area, including the Mercury Lounge in New York later tonight, and good ol’ Arlene’s this Tuesday, the 27th.

Come to think of it, if they read this and they’ve got time before or after the Merc Lounge gig (*hint hint*), they should go to Arlene’s for the Punk Rock/Heavy Metal Karaoke 5th anniversary show, which also runs tonight from 10 PM-1 AM! Even if they get there a little late, it’d still be cool to see them stop in and make an appearance. Hell, you should all stop in! I’m going to see if I can beat out 40 million people for that Darkness song, otherwise…oh hell, I’ll think of something.

More soon, including hopefully some long-overdue album (Khanate, Rue, and probably s’more) and show (Psychedelic Furs/The Alarm) reviews, and some news on the return of My Big, Black Cock Radio!

Another penis enlargement spambot posted a comment to this site…under an obituary post.

There’s a special place in hell reserved for people like the person who’s responsible for this, a place where you lay on the ground, unable to move but able to feel pain as you’re kicked over and over again by screaming toddlers for an eternity.

I don’t think I could love the new Tears For Fears album more if I tried.

In other news, we’re playing another show on July 12th at Alchemy in New York City. Mark it on your calendars.

Last Night

Posted in My Big, Black Cock. on April 17th, 2004 by Scott Crawford

Thanks from the bottom of my heart to everyone who came out to see Murder In The Dark last night. Thanks also go to The Loop Lounge and the Dead City Disco kids for having us and being so great to us. I do regret to inform those of you who had to leave early that you missed out on a treat. In addition to The Secret Cervix’s usual hi-jinks, you missed Get Precious, who none in attendance will be able to forget seeing for some time if ever, I’d imagine. Unbelievable. They’ll be playing at Connections in Clifton, NJ as “The Pillowbiters” this Sunday, April 18th. If you’re not recovering from an impromptu gig (and a broken toe suffered during last minute prep) and watching Deadwood like I’ll be doing, I urge you to check them out.

For those who missed us last night (a few of whom got to the venue late, sadly…thanks again for coming out and supporting us, regardless), we will be playing again relatively soon. Stay tuned for more details.

Pictures of the night soon, hopefully.

Just A Reminder…

…that my band Murder In The Dark will be playing at The Loop Lounge tonight as part of the inaugural edition of Dead City Disco, a new monthly night there. We will be taking the stage at 10:45 PM. Also performing will be Get Precious and The Secret Cervix, with DJs Charlie The Slut, Todd Prozac and Geoff Precious spinning sets between bands and throughout the night. I’m not 100% certain on the admission price (sometimes, the details get lost in all the chaos), but I believe it’ll be no more than $8. You can certainly contact the club for more info if you absolutely NEED to know before I get around to finding out for sure. Should be an interesting evening to say the least, as this is Murder In The Dark’s first show in about 4 1/2 years.

Performing live at The Loop Lounge in Passaic, NJ as part of Dead City Disco on Friday, April 16, 2004.

Also performing will be The Secret Cervix and Get Precious (along with DJs Charlie The Slut, Todd Prozac and Geoff Precious spinning records between sets). We’ve been told that we’re going on around 10:45, so get there by 10:30 and hopefully, we won’t keep you waiting for too long.

Murder In The Dark is: Jaki (vocals), Kage (bass), Charles (guitar), and yours truly (keyboards/drum programming/vocals). The band has just returned from a hiatus of several years. The full MITD web site will be done “when it’s done”, but we will be updating with more news and such (including music, which we’ll have available as soon as possible) as it becomes available.

In the meantime, come out, support us, and tell the doorman you’re there to see Murder In The Dark, of course.

You know, it’d be really nice if Daylight Savings Time would leave me the fuck alone when I’m looking at strippers.
