He has been moved out of intensive care as of yesterday and is “continuing with his recovery” according to doctors.
From Marc’s web site, a slightly less impersonal message from his family:
“27 October 2004
“Marc’s family would like you to know that he is progressing with his recovery in hospital. His family have passed on to him the overwhelming amount of good wishes which have been received and Marc is aware of all the messages of love and support. He still has a long way to go in his recovery and his family have asked that his privacy continue to be respected. They would also like to thank the staff at the hospital for their work in aiding his recovery so far.
I’m sure you will all join us today in breathing a sigh of relief at this positive news.
Marc’s family would like to thank everyone for their continued support and once again we must stress, please do not send any flowers or gifts to the hospital. Anybody wishing to send something might consider instead making a donation to the London’s Air Ambulance. London’s Air Ambulance is part of the emergency medical response service that attended to Marc. London’s Air Ambulance receives some Government funding and sponsorship however each year its charity arm has to fundraise to meet any shortfall for the costs of the service. Any donations to this worthwhile cause will be greatly appreciated. If you would like to make a donation please send a cheque to Christine Margetts, A and E Department, Royal London Hospital, Whitechapel, London, E1 2BB, UK. Please make cheques payable to ‘Virgin HEMS London Ltd’. (HEMS stands for Helicopter Emergency Medical Service). Details for making donations by telephone can be found at www.londonairambulance.org”
