One Thing.

Posted in My Big, Black Cock. on March 31st, 2006 by Scott Crawford

I have a mission for you all today, one I plan to also undertake myself.

I want everyone who reads this (if it happens on this date, Friday, March 31, 2006, that’s fine, but if not, then whenever you read this) to do at least one thing that you’ve been putting off doing forever. C’mon, this year is 3 months gone after today. Isn’t it about fucking time you all did something?

It doesn’t have to be a dramatic, sweeping life change, but it does have to be one thing you’ve been putting off for a while, it should be something that you feel needs to be done (even if it’s as simple as watching a movie you’ve been procrastinating on seeing) and you do have to do it. You can even do more than one thing, but there’s no pressure to. I just want you all to do one thing you’ve been putting off doing, and tell me what you did and how you did it (either by commenting here, or by emailing me).

In my case, there’s a pile of stuff that I’ve had sitting in the upstairs hallway for ages…

I want this gone today. Wish me luck on my mission. I will be providing you with updates.

I will be reposting this everywhere, so you can’t avoid thinking about it.

UPDATE: less than 20 minutes later, it’s gone…

I did what I had to do today. What are you going to do?

Some things remain constant, despite all the changes in the world.

Here’s one of them: Uncle Floyd is a god among men, a giant in a land of insects, and his mom is bigger than your mom.

Руководителю!

That’s right! Руководителю, motherfuckers! Руководителю!

(Disclaimer: I don’t read or speak Russian. I saw this in a spam subject line and thought “Wow, that’s a great battle cry, even though I don’t know how to pronounce it. “)

Because you all need easy access to The Trailer…

The Mob Rules

Posted in My Big, Black Cock. on March 15th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

I would love to know when putting up with the bullshit of others became “the right thing to do” on a society-wide basis. Time was, when someone did something wrong, people called them on it, and if they had indeed done something wrong, they either made amends or they fucked right off. Nowadays, when you call someone on their wrongdoing, you’re hunted like a dog and persecuted like a Salem witch for daring to disrupt the status quo. The people who are in the wrong say “don’t judge”, which is Newspeak for “I know that I’m clearly in the wrong and I don’t give a damn because I’m taking what I want, so fuck you! Have a nice day!”. The onlookers would rather put up with the wrongdoing than have an opinion, or worse, take a stand, because it’s all so exhausting. Everyone’s just too overwhelmed with their day-to-day shit to care about little things like right and wrong, personal responsibility and consideration for others anymore. “No one cares”, they say. “Deal with it.” “It’s easier than fighting with people.” “That’s just the fuckin’ way it is.” We’re all expected to bear the burden of the rest of the world’s failure to not act like animals, and if we have the audacity to question anything, we’re causing “drama”.

Well, frankly, I’m tired of it. Buying into this mentality that suggests that taking abuse is somehow beneficial to the greater good of society is a complete and total failure on our parts, and it needs to stop. Make a decision to stand up for yourself. Be polite, be respectful (to others as well as to yourself), have some sense of perspective if at all possible, but stand your ground and don’t take shit from anyone who’s treating you unfairly. Send a message to the mob. “The Dude minds! This aggression will not stand, man.” Every little bit helps.

Quick Movie Review: “Sideways”

Passable, but it really should’ve been called “Yuppie Holocaust”, and they should’ve edited out any scenes in the movie where the camera wasn’t fixed on Virginia Madsen. I think I actually enjoyed watching “Elektra” more, right before I watched this, and “Elektra” wasn’t very good, either. **

Sometimes, there’s no joy in being right.

“During the last few weeks I’ve been trying to think of something absolutely original and devastating. I’ve been trying to lay my hands on some idea that’ll revolutionise the world in some way. Something like fire, or the wheel. ‘Course, it’s no good thinking of those two because they’ve already been invented, but something along those lines. . .”
