Stars My Destination

Does anyone know of a good Starman web site, particularly one that has extensive information on Opal City? I was trying to describe Warren, Ohio to people, and parts of it reminded me of Opal (which I’ve come to find out is in the DC Universe’s version of Maryland), but I want a really good frame of reference I can point them at, and I haven’t found one yet. Anyone?

I am in Warren, Ohio.

Posted in My Big, Black Cock. on May 29th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

Yep, this place.

Like a few towns in Ohio, it’s got an odd and interesting back story. I don’t know if I’ll get to see a lot of it, because this really isn’t a leisure trip at all, but it was still interesting to drive through town, and read the backstory of it all just now.

Any of y’all from around here? Get in touch if so, I’m here until Wed. morning, probably.

Testing, y0.

If this works, then all future mybigblackcock.com posts will be automatically posted to LJ. Again. Been a while.

Edit: It works. If you’re a “cockfeed” reader, you can discontinue use of it if you so desire. Otherwise, you’re going to be reading things twice still.

Scott Crawford/The Lost Patrol/Five Star Dive at The Loop Lounge Friday 5/12/06 (TONIGHT!)

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Upcoming Events. on May 12th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

I will be playing at The Loop Lounge in Passaic, NJ TONIGHT with The Lost Patrol and Five Star Dive. As the nice train wreck flyer says above, doors are at 10, admission is $7, and the show is 21+.

As those of you who’ve seen the last 5023980238902 of these announcements may know, I typically fill the paragraph after the specifics with some attempt to say something clever (How am I doing at that?), or otherwise, I try to say something about the show that’ll make it stand out in some odd way among the other 5023980238902 bulletins about shows that you see from the other people on your lists. I’m not going to do too much of that today, as you’ve heard plenty about this show already.

What I will say, before I let you all be until I take the stage tonight, is this: you’ve got 3 bands at the Loop tonight who are going to bust their respective asses to make this show totally fucking godhead for you all. I can’t really speak objectively about the quality of what I do, because, well, I’m the one doing it, but I can tell you that both The Lost Patrol and Five Star Dive are on this bill because I really, genuinely enjoy what they do, and I think you will as well. I’m going to have a great time tonight just watching them, but I also promise to save as much of that great time as possible for when I’m on the stage. It’s going to be a blast, folks, and I’d love to see you right there with us all. Right up front, close to the stage, all cozy and personal. This is going to be good.

Oh, and one more thing. Free hugs from me tonight for whoever wants ‘em.

RSVP for attendance as well as hugs here.

Shameless…but successfully so.

That’s right. I’m the #1 search result for “my big black cock” again, beating out an untold number of porn spammers. Full disclosure here: the above image was edited for space reasons. An original screenshot of the search results is available here, or you could just check Google yourself.

Next stops: I want to be the #1 search result for “scott crawford” (I’m currently number 2 to some Java guy who’s held the top spot and scottcrawford.com forever) and, of course, I still want to take back the #1 search result for “black cock”, but that’s going to take a lot of work. Link to me, people!

Two Quick Record Reviews

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Reviews: Scott Crawford on May 9th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

The unrelenting fucking hype really is somewhat justified: “St. Elsewhere” by Gnarls Barkley really is one of the best records of the year, and one of the best R&B/Soul records I’ve heard in a good long while. It’s fresh-sounding and classic-sounding in the same breath. Enjoy the record while you still can, because it’s going to get played to death for the rest of recorded history. If you want to hear some and don’t feel like dealing with navigating a Flash site, go waste some of Fox’s bandwidth and hit their MySpace page.

On the other hand, I’m a few songs into the new Tool record and I just don’t give a damn about it. It’s just like every other Tool record. They’re not bad, but I’m almost never inspired to listen to Tool. If you like all of your music to be expertly played, moody, and sound exactly alike, BUY THIS RECORD. Otherwise, don’t bother. You probably have a Tool record somewhere in your collection. Go listen to that if you have to.

“The Ritual” Now Available On iTunes Music Store!

Posted in My Big, Black Cock. on May 9th, 2006 by Scott Crawford

“The Ritual” is now available on the iTunes Music Store! (Link will open in iTunes, or ask you why you don’t have it if not.)

“The Ritual” is a film score I recorded in 1994 for Propaganda Videozine III, and to date, there’s never been a proper release of it in any format. There were maybe 20 cassette copies pressed at the time it was completed (Anyone out there still have one of those cassettes?), and some bootlegs do exist, but that’s it. First-time release, comin’ atcha live! Signed limited edition CDs are probably on the way, but hopefully this will tide you over.

You may all begin sobbing uncontrollably on the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ behalf now.

The PS 2 Challenge, or “How To Give Yourself Irreversible Fucking Brain Damage In A Month”

Christopher Coleman is attempting to review 300 Playstation 2 games in 30 days. He’ll be doing 10 games per day, and devoting 5 minutes of gameplay time to each rapid-fire game review. He’s 2 days in so far, and already, the strain of playing a lot of shitty modern video games is showing just slightly. I predict that he’ll be completely out of his mind by day 10. Get in on the ground floor, and watch this poor cocksucker deteriorate in real time!

I’ve been listening to this since last summer, and I still can’t get enough of it.

DJ John-Victim of Da Funk (Eagles Vs. Daft Punk)

Awesome, awesome stuff, maybe the best mash-up I’ve heard. DJ John’s done a lot of other good stuff, too. Check it out at his site.

Thought For The Day

Joe Walsh is God, and you’re not.

Someone should come to my house and give me a lapdance to “The Confessor”, like, now.

I have spoken.

Scott Crawford at The Loop Lounge 5/12/06!

Posted in My Big, Black Cock., Upcoming Events. on May 1st, 2006 by Scott Crawford

Yeah. Da’s right. In less than 2 weeks, on Friday, May 12th, I will be at The Loop Lounge in Passaic, NJ with The Lost Patrol and Five Star Dive! Doors are at 10, the show’s 21+, and cover should be $7.

This is the part of these things where I normally spend about a paragraph attempting to think of something clever to say about the show, but instead of doing that this morning, I give you…a kinkajou!

RSVP here! For reals!
