Wow, no shit.

Here’s the trailer for ZO2′s TV show:

As someone who’s actually performed with the Z brothers way back when (for one glorious song, “Down” by the Stone Temple Pilots; the Zs filled in for the regular band that week), I gotta say that this cracks my shit up. Good luck, guys!

The Dark Knight

Well, that’s 2 1/2 hours of my life I’ll never get back.

Hey, Nolan! Learn how to pace a movie, for fuck’s sake. This is 2 Batman movies you’ve screwed up now by letting them go on FOREVER. Apparently, you’re not into the whole brevity thing. Acquaint yourself with it, or at least let this guy edit your movies, because you’re just not good enough at building tension to be using up all this running time.

Ledger was alright, but unless it’s a really slim Oscar field and a really misty-eyed Academy, there’s no way he gets a statue, and no way people’d even be thinking about awards if he had a pulse still.

Day 35

Posted in Training. on July 25th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 2
1 minute stretching
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 2
4 minutes jogging
1 minute walking (supposed to be 2, but c’mon.)

Total time: 31 minutes
Total mileage: whatever my usual is, plus 2 laps around my parking lot to finish the last minute of jogging and the last minute of walking

This is as close as I’ve gotten to finishing my workout in week 3 of Grete’s book so far, and honestly, I felt pretty good throughout. Maybe a little sore as I started the 3rd 3 minute jogging rep, but that’s always the case (that slow building hill’s a pain in the ass…), and maybe a little winded during the last 3 minute jog, but otherwise, great.

I’m off to Cooperstown now. Back on Sunday, probably for another run.

Day 34

Posted in Training. on July 23rd, 2008 by Scott Crawford

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 2
1 minute jogging
*sound of me hitting wall*
17 minutes walking

Total time: 33 minutes
Total distance: about the same as I’ve been doing

I’ve been hitting the wall, so to speak, a little quicker lately, because I’m being more cautious with my shins. I was pushing myself past more pain than I should and paying for it for weeks at a time. Trying not to do that now. Gonna build from here. Today also sucked because it was so goddamned humid, but not warm enough. It’s like running in a sauna when you’ve got humidity but not heat.

Onward to Thursday.

Day 33

Posted in Training. on July 19th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 3
2 minute break to fill up my water bottle, stretch and have a quick drink
2 minutes jogging then I crapped out, might’ve been more like 2:30
10 minutes walking

Total time: 32 minutes
Total mileage: finally going up after being stalled for a while, but still no pedometer. Cleaning my room, so it’ll turn up.

It was about 95 degrees out when I did this workout, with very little shade on about two thirds of my course, and amazingly, I felt pretty great. Drank the fluids I needed to, and I really don’t mind the heat. Best workout of the week. Ran until I started feeling some minor soreness in my calves and shins, then walked it out the rest of the way. Iced my left calf for 10 minutes when I got home, no Advil or the like, and I feel great now.

I’m still not doing the entirety of the recommended workout yet, but that’s fine, because I am making progress and feeling better. I’ll stick with my current workout level until I can get past it comfortably and easily, then move on.

Day 32

Posted in Training. on July 17th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 2

Then thunder and lightning mercy-killed my workout.

More on Saturday. After almost 4 months (even with the obvious interruptions), you’d think I’d be making more progress than this. Not getting frustrated or disappointed, just learning my body and its current limits.

Day 31

Posted in Training. on July 16th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

It was hot as hell out, and I’m still healing, so I kept myself at last week’s pace in the book, and did it sparingly.

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking
2 minutes jogging
some stretching because my right calf was tightening up
walking the rest of the way

Total Time: 36 minutes
Total Distance: exactly where it’s been for weeks now, but still no fucking pedometer. Oh well, I am cleaning this week, I’ll probably turn it up.

I am taking it very easy lately, because I’d like to finally heal and be able to run pain-free or damn close to it (my left knee barks a lot, and did even before I started running, so totally pain-free might always be asking for too much) in the near future. I’m getting closer. I still feel like I’m half-assing it to get there, but I’m trying to have patience with myself.

I may walk again in the other park tonight, depending on what my energy level’s like (my sleep’s shot at the moment), no jogging, and see if I can get myself back to a Mon./Wed./Fri. schedule, which is what I’m most comfortable with. Stay tuned. I know the suspense is killing you all.

More from my friend George Tabb

Posted in My Big, Black Cock. on July 15th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

Well-done video by George’s friend Evan Cohen.

I have to find out what games George is playing so I can play against him, but it looks like he’s got an XBox 360. Maybe I can bogart my sister’s for a while.

Day 30

Posted in Training. on July 13th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 1
1 minute jogging/3 minutes walking x 2
2 minutes jogging
10 minutes walking

…give or take.

Total time: about 30 minutes
Total mileage: same as usual, no pedometer yet.

I took 2 extra days off, and took it easy today, because I’d like my calves and shins to heal at some point. I’ll see how I feel tomorrow and Tuesday (I’ll be running Tues./Thurs./Sat. this week), but I’m just about totally pain-free right now, so at least for now, it’s paid off. The goal now is to get as close to pain-free as I can, or totally pain-free in an ideal situation, by the end of August, while building up my endurance at the same time, slowly. Even if it involves more walking than running while I heal, I’m cool with that. Just gotta keep at it, and make adjustments as I go.

Well, that worked…

Went to Burger King just now, and figured “Eh, fuck it, I’ll leave the iPod home”. Turn on the radio, and Strapping Young Lad are on, so I’m like “Hey, bonus!” and I left it on WDHA. Then, they said that they were giving away a copy of SYL’s new hits CD/DVD and their last album, “The New Black”, to the 5th caller.

I think you bitches can guess who the 5th caller was. Yeah, that’s right.

All this, and bacon cheeseburgers, people.

So yeah, about that Simpsons movie…

Posted in Man, fuck those guys., My Big, Black Cock. on July 11th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

$65 million to make an average, 75 minute episode of the TV show? I’m fairly confident that the FCC wouldn’t have fined Fox 50 million dollars because Marge said “God damn it!” and Bart had his wang on-screen for a second.

Don’t get me wrong here. I don’t hate The Simpsons. They’re not a religion to me like they are to some, but I can usually laugh when I watch the show. However, I can think of much better things to do with 50 million dollars of Fox’s money. Maybe not more profitable things (the movie grossed half a billion dollars…), but better things. I could make a really big bong or something. I don’t know. Maybe that would make a lot of money, if you marketed it to the same audience.

Free Slurpee Day

Posted in Upcoming Events. on July 11th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

It starts at 7 AM local time TODAY, people. That’s in 6 hours and 24 minutes over here on the East Coast of the States. If there are 7-11s near you in foreign lands, then Free Slurpee Day may have already started for you.

You know what to do.

Day 29

Posted in Training. on July 9th, 2008 by Scott Crawford

“No friggin’ way” week continues…

5 minutes walking
3 minutes jogging/2 minutes walking x 3
1 minute jogging
*sound of me hitting wall here*
8 minutes walking, give or take…did a little cooldown walk, hit the water fountain, walked a little more and decided not to push it.

Total Time: 29 minutes
Total Distance: whatever. Damn pedometer.

I’m about 2 hours removed from the workout now, and I’m still a little achey and fatigued in the shins/calves, but nothing really awful. I think I’m going to stick with this run until it makes sense to move on, which still puts me further ahead than I was, and I’m happy with the progress, even if I’m not hitting the program’s goals. I’ve got time to build up to that, and while my lung capacity is getting better, I am still running through soreness and a possible injury here to some degree. More stretching is definitely in order (I’ve been easing into it, getting used to the idea of doing more than I had been before/after), I may throw some insoles in the Kayanos until I lose some weight, and I’m not going to push my luck until I feel good about running at the level I’m running at. I do love that I’m doing 3 minutes at a time rather than 2 now, though, because I pissed and moaned so much on some of those 2 minute jogs (and someday, I will laugh a hearty laugh about this), and the difference between 2 and 3 is pretty negligible.

As an aside, no running club folks out today, just the high school kids who have cross-country practice there.

Onward to Friday.
